telling the boys

Here is the note my husband wrote to read to the boys. He had made dinner, set the table, invited my mom, and had the video recorder set up. My mom brought sparkling cider for us all to make a toast.

"Boys,
We have something very special to share with you guys and this is probably the last time this will ever happen! We're proud to have Grandmama here to celebrate with us!!"

Don't you love how he said "probably" - good grief. I think definitely would be in order. He then proceeded to hand a note to my first born so first born could read it aloud to second born.

I can't decide if I want to post my kids names on the blog, so first born will be 1B and second will be 2B :-)

Here's the note he wrote that he asked 1B to read aloud:

"2B,
I am already a big brother but guess what?? You are going to be a big brother too! Mommy has a tiny baby growing in her tummy right now!!

Of course I totally started crying. The boys were so cute and excited. 2B jumped up to take a look at my belly and 1B just got a giant smile and big eyes and said "really?"

I love having older kids who really get this and are excited about it. Both boys have been hugging my belly (their new baby) and talking to Baby3. Wow wow wow, Baby3 is going to be one lucky baby to have such adoring big brothers.
